I've got an early type manual fuel pump on my 1275gt and i want to know if it's working the unit looks alright but she doesn't seem to pump!! Does there need to be fuel all the way down the pipe into the pump for it to work??? The unit seems to have no problems with it it's like the rest of the car little/no use in 10 years and everything else works so it's surprising that this doesn't!!
Any ideas??

Pull the fuel pipe that goes to the carb off. Crank engine over. Fuel comes out then pump all good. If not then somthing is amiss.

extinguish cigarettes and return lap trays and seats to their upright positions before doing so.... i know someone who checked their fuel pressure after a 20 mile journey (it was struggling and running very lean) and lit the fuel on the manifold!!!!!!
