At the mo i have a 998cc with a stage 1 kit.

Is there any simple steps to gain more power from the engine, i have stripped it so far as well as i can, would like to get smooth carb boot to so less weight there.

Are there any other things people do to the small engine it get more power.

I suppose i can upgrade to stage 2 kit, is this possible.
cheers

If you are tuning a 998, you will probably be better off getting a standard 1275!!! the first will cost more with insurance!! then when you feel like you still need more power, you can bore it out to a proper size, then start bolting bits on. :)

But he doesn't want a 1275!

For low cost power fit a 1275 head, Fit a 997Cooper cam (948), and an RC40 exhaust with a 1.75" diameter exit. then Get it down to MLM motorsport and get it all set-up by the master.

Alright thanks bud, am going to southam mini metro centre today. I know there good so will ask them about it.

Although the 998 black has 72000 miles on clock so maybe not wise to go to crazy as it will just brake.

cheers

yer but... no but....

what i'm getting at is by the time you fa**y around with the 998 and rebuild your engine, your insurance will be higher than a 1275 and if you want more power still, your only option is to go with the bigger bore engine.

How can changing a cam, exhaust different spec head which may require the blck pcketting be mre cst effective than fitting a stck 1275 engine....

nw yu've made me break my 0 buttn!!!! :) ooOOOooo thats better.
