There was no bending involved just a clean break in each of the standard tiebars

Where are they failing? I doubt very much that if there was a problem with tie bars failing that Austin, Morris and Rover would have done nothing about it.

Put up some pictures. Failure of normaly reliable items is rarely down to the items themselfs, but rather the conditions they are put under as a result of human intervention. And im not saying you did it

Ive had four Minis of varying ages and know several people who own and have owned Minis but I have never heard of any tie bar failures.

no we did not do it, the mini was only bought in january and the guy who built it took over 6 years , and we think he used some old parts...

i think that could have also been a weak spot in the metal, especially if there was welding near it. (im not excluding the bushes theory)

we have bought these tiebars to replace the broken ones

are they good ? i thought if they can withstand the stresses of racing then they should cope on the road pretty well.
