could anyone recommend a carb needle for a 1992 mini city-e 998cc with a mini spares stage 1 kit and mini sport fast road cam?? we're currently having a few problems with flat spots...the needle that came with the kit doesn't seem to suit the cam.

AAA needle.
Might need to be a little richer with that cam tho.

download WinSu, then goto the compare needles bit.
Put AAU on one line and AAA on the other, and it will show you a graph to compare them
