Hi
This should proably be in technical but anyway
Re the sub - I would check on the Ice tech section but my thoughts would be you need an uprated alternater and a bigger battery. To link two batterys I believe you need a split charging system - google it as I'm not sure on the details of this type of system
Re bike carbs check out my project, link is below

o i read urs like 15 times from page 1 to 12 what cc engine do you have and have you noticed any change in performance for example exceleration and top speed know anywhere that do kits to fit them my mate has got carbs from his 750cc would these be any good for my 1000cc mini? i think if i got an mpi alternator i would have more power going to the battery and i was also thinkin of gettin a ford escort battery and gettin a larger battery box

Engine is basically 1293 stage 3
Acceleration is a lot better due to the twin carbs giving more low down torque, top speed hasnt changed but this is compared to a weber 45 DCOE not a standard SU carb
Bogg brothers (google it) can supply and fit them but be prepared for the cost! I did a lot of this myself / mechanic relative made the inlets for me so kept the cost a fair bit lower
Not sure on MPi alt but as I said check the ICE forum section I'm sure it will have been covered there and I think its a pug 306 diesel battery you are after , also fits in the standard battery box

omg that sounds a good engine it prob wont be any good on my engine the carbs i want to use are from a Yamaha YZF 750 R
1994 its under cc for my engine cc but i was thinking of tryin to put all 4 carbs on my engine and gettin my local mini garage to make my manifolds how do u link the throttle up and the petrol pipes and stuff just like a normal carb?
your topic inspired me to try this out and thought my mini needs something new lol

I think a Ford Escort alt fits quite easily, i believe it just needs a tiny bit of filing.

If you read my project thread near the start there was discussion re the sizes of the carbs
You cant relate the bike engine size to the car engine size (talking about superbikes not your little 20cc scooter here!) the carbs mine came off (Yamaha R1) is a 1000cc so you would think that 2 would only be big enough for a 500cc engine but its more the choke size you need to be concerned with.
for example a HIFF44 is 44mm and will power a 1275 till quite a state of tune but a HIFF44 on a 998 is a bit overkill
The carbs I'm using are 40mm (but twin) which replaced a weber DCOE45 which had 36mm chokes I think
Look at it this way a set of twin sus for a 998 would likely be 1 1/4 HS2 ie approx 31mm so you should be looking at something around this size but then why not just use the Su's
Putting all 4 on would be difficult as the mini only has 2 inlet ports normally (Just had a thought 7 or 8 port head with 4 bike carbs
)
Re fuel and throttle it is all in the project thread but basically trying to fit anything not from a mini is a bit more involved. I had to adapt the fuel inlet because of only using the 2 carbs also the choke and I ended up also adapting a throtle pedal and cable attachment at the carb end. You also cant just pick up an air filter off the shelf.
I have no experience with the carbs you are thinking of using so cant say if they will work or not or if they do even if they will improve anything but having said that anything which will mix fuel and air in the right % will get the engine to turn over all depends on how well it all works together
Not trying to put you off the idea but its a fair bit of work involved and may all be for nothing/end up costing a lot more than standard tuning mods on a 998.
cheers

I'll move this to Tech, but you should really make another topic for the sub question in the ICE section.

3000w is alot of juice - 306 diesel battery would be good, but split charging ossibly better if you are going to build a complete system around that sub with the other speakers in the system audible over that sub when you turn it up.

I was having the same problem as you with my 206 cd player, all i done was on the wires at the back of coming out theres a yellow and a red wire, in the middle of them there should be a way to unplug them from each other!? if that makes sense lol if you swap the red to the yellow and vice versa then when you crank it up it shouldnt cut out!!
keep my fingers crossed for you!!
