Hi peeps.
how do i spot if a cone is not original, picked up a pair of brand new dunlop cones from ebay,
got suspisious when i opened them to find they had been painted black and coated with oil.
also the writing on the cone looks blurry, on my old ones the writing is crystal clear.
is there any way of telling before i fit them.
cheers.

They should say Dunlop and Moulton on them usually. But I've heard that there have been a few dodgy rubber springs doing the rounds and their known to collapse in no time.

Mini Spares claim to sell genuine OE Dunlop Moulton springs that should last more than a couple of hundred miles of use and I'd be very wary of using the one's you have from you're description.

What Taffy said.....

Rob3 bought some dodgy ones without realising not so long back. Right PITA to change as the top arm has come out on the front, it certainly isn't what I'd want to be doing after 200 miles.

Can you return the items to the seller or report them to eBay for selling items with the wrong description?

Quite simply, if you paid about 30 notes each then they are likely to be genuine ( or you've been compltely ripped off ), if not suspect they are used or non-genuine

If possible put up a photo
