Took the engine out my dads project marcos and removed the head to see if it had been rebored etc....

i found to my delight the head fitted to it has massive valves, double valve springs and its inlet ports look enlargened and polished.

The only markings out the ordinary i can see are on the top of the head near the thermostat which is stamped 'MSR 501'. Has anyone any idea what the head is and where it is from? I will try measure the vlaves tomorrow but thought the markings may have a meaning to someone.
Engine is an A+1275 but head is A series with the external water connection blocked off, Is it ok just blocking off the connection? will it still get enough water to the head?

Thanks for looking

Daniel

The exhaust valves i found where standard size exhaust and about 37mm inlet. The inlet ports have been opened up to a polished finish of atleast 125micro inches (for those who work in a machine shop). the exhaust ports looked opened up but are not polished.
