HI, anyone know where I can find the MOT rules for a 1969 car for its test? I have googled, but to no avail. She's booked in tomorrow!

I believe they don't test the emissions and only do a smoke test? So as long as it's not pumping out blue or black smoke whilst running then you should be fine.
Everything else like the ball-joints, bearings, structural rust, rear subframe etc is relevant on all Minis.

Handbrake needs to operate as this is tested on the rollers,Doesn`t need reversing light!

Well a 1969 Mini wouldn't have had reversing lights or fog lights, so there's no need to worry. If you're Mini was a post 1980 model, then it would need to have them fitted.

I believe reverse lights arent a requirement to be fitted just that if they are they should work - someone correct me if this is wrong
Mines a 72 and hasnt got reverse lights and never had a problem with MOTs
re the handbrake are you saying there isnt one or that it isnt working - either way a fail
cheers

Cheers all! Thats just what I had hoped! I was getting ready with a spotlight and some wire and gaffer tape incase I needed to fit a reverse light.....
Just need to grease the handbrake cable and try to stop the holes in the exhaust. Shame to do tho, as it gives it its unique sound!
Cheers again!

My handbrake works, but unless you pull it quite tight it doesnt bite too well. Apparently its a common characteristic of this specific modification....
It does stop the car, but it could be better. ALOT better!

What modification?
Wouldn't adjusting the rear brakes help tighten it up anyway?
