I have done a search and it returned blank.
At the mo I have a 998 engine, all i would like to know is: is it possible to get it bored out to become a 1098?
cheers, tim

a +0.60" would give 1046cc on a standard stoke crank i believe.

1098 is a restroked 998 rather than rebored.

What do I have to do to get it restroked? Does that mean I need no machining work done on the block?

New a new crank, new pistons and new rods ?

You can't get it restroked with the standard 998 parts, it needs a specific 1098 crankshaft and pistons (rods are common to both). It's far easier to buy a 1098 engine complete.

Would it just be the crank and pistons which have to be 1098? cam, rockers and head is not really a problem as i am planning on doing a k series bmw head conversion.

Yup, the only differences between Mini 998 and 1098 engines of the same year are the crank and pistons.

doing a k series bmw head conversion.
Thought that didn't work on 998's.

I've been speaking with a guy from specalist components and he says the 8-valve bmw head fits without tooo much work and the 16-valve works with a slight bit more work.
