Right then, mate of mine noticed a missfire today on the GT, its not a bad one but under load it missfires, theres no loss of power, the engine e?is as revvy and picks up as it always has. speed is not an issue and all seems fine except the miss.

i took the leads off one by one as u do, and its cylinder 3 (2nd from the left) that when u take the lead off, makes no difference.

the idle isnt bad, ive checked all plugd and leads and there all sparking as they should, havent done a compression test yet but i think im fearing the worst! doh!

just seems weird that it drives and everything as it should yet its missing.

havent knocked the dizzy, water and oil levels are fine, no mayo, no loss of power, im out of things it could be,

whipped the rocker cover off and all tappets appear to be moving freely when i rocked the car in first gear, all springs are working fine too

any ideas without getting it compression tested? head gasket maybe?

also dont no if its related, and i doubt it but the other day my secondary rev counter that has worked fine in the past has died, went from jumping all over the place to totally dead, and also main beam for night driving makes the car idle poorly (prob alternator)

If the compression test was ok... then that 'should' eliminate the worst thing,... piston ring failiure. so it could well be the HG... or the head itself.
