we had this on L2B, check your breather pipe off the tank, ours was stiff and fell off so fumes were running into the car rather than through the pipe and out under the carhi all have owned my mini mayfair for 6 months now and i am getting a strong smell of fuel coming in to car when driving?? when window is open, ive never had this before and i have owned 5 minis over the years!! all advice and help welcome guys!! regards rob.

Other thing to check is the bowl-jet pipe on your carb, I had mine doing that. Give away would be the paint on the cross member will probably be stripped if its that.
EDIT - If its dripping from there theres a good chance of it splashing on your exhaust manifold, which (obviously) is hot. Whiiiich can be a problem when you splash on highly flamable liquids. Good luck

Could also just be that the float bowl is over-flowing due to a sticking needle valve. also check the short length of flexi fuel pipe that goes from the copper fuel line to the fuel pump, these often leak.
