I own a 1993 Tahiti with the sealed headlamps and want to change to Halogens.
Would I need to alter any of the existing wiring ie for sidelights or will my existing wiring mean I only need to unplug the sealed units and plug in hte new set (such as these http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=37818 ?

Am I right in believing that I have a relay that controls the side / main beam ?

Please help a numpty !

They will just plug in directly but it is a good idea to fit relays into the dipped and main circuits to limit the power through the switch. The halogens don't draw much more than the existing lamps but the circuit is almost at the limit of the switch's abilities already and any corrosion in the existing wiring makes this worse. Halogens have been the cause of many a Mini lightswitch melt down.

There are currently no relays running your headlamps, the dim-dip relay does something else.

What type of relays should you fit and where abouts is best?
