Just wanted to know if anyone knows what sort of paint i would have to use to paint my engine block??? and do i have to primer it first...???
Just want some general info about the whole thing from start to finish...would be great!!

well i wouldnt prime it jsut make sure it is very clean and get some heat proof paint and you will be sorted my freind.... :grin: hope thats helped

Well it is much easier to do when the engine is out, and stripped.
You have to make sure it is very clean with no oil/grease or rust etc.
Picture of my engine after it was painted (and rebored etc :grin: ) :

Best place to try for the engine paint is Motor factors. Halfords only sell black or red!

i done mine in, i was lucky, because my engine is normaly clean most the time anyways....
i just used heat proof paint,,
done it about 3 years ago, hasnt peeled at all, and still looks good

hehe,
I had my paint made specially, the old man was working at a paint co. Had to hat to 250 Deg.C to set, now heat proof to about 800 Deg.C in the brightest red!!!

well there are no Halfords in germany!! but some wicked car shops!!
