was on my way to pick my mate up last night in the hope of going to the asda to get some beers in... gear knob came off as it's not one that fits properly... couldn't get it back on not even temporarily... so I pushed it (well whacked it) onto the gear stick and bang, the bloody mounting rubbers underneath the car snapped and hit the ground! lol.

Im no expert but I imagined that the AA guy would have some bolts to put on it, not knowing at that stage it has special rubber shocks...

All he could do was fix it up temporarily with some wire and follow me and my mate home (not to asda :o )

nevermind, I think I'll just about manage to get it to the garage next week... I've seen what I think is the right part on minispares for about £2 each (theres 2 obviously) but if the garage has some in stock then it's easier and faster to get it done there...

lesson learnt... don't be so heavy handed, mini's are more fragile than you think

don't let a garage fob you off with exhaust mount cotton reels (as they are called) as they look similar but are a different size...

to be honest, it's not the most difficult job in the world to replace them yourself, and for the 15-30 quid labour a garage would charge, worth doing.

i was just going to mention that. they are a bigger size. its only 2 nuts and the old ones will be off and u can easily bolt the new ones back on.

Not sure. if you PM simon@minispares and ask him, he might pop some on your order if you buy from minispares.com
