
camshaft change question

hi, im goin to be changing the camshaft in my 1275gt to a kent 276. my oil pump is a spider drive and i was wondering which type of oil pump drive the 276 is. if it is not spider drive, is it possible to just change the oil pump to the appropriate drive?

kent are normally slot driven oil pumps

Just buy a slot driven pump or whichever you require (to match your cam)
It is generally seen as "normal" to replace the oil pump while the engine is apart anyhow.

Yes. Buy a slot drive pump to match your cam if that's what drive type it has.

...you do know your going to have to strip the driver side of the engine down to do it right?

im in the middle of an engine rebuild mate, thats why i want to get it done now while its out

its a bit more than that dude, its a full engine strip down to change the cam...unless you want the followers rattling around your gearbox.
its also common practise to fit new followers at the same time as a new cam dude so definately not an in car job on a 1275.

its pretty much stripped already as im paining the block.
