1275GT engine colour

Hi, im rebuilding my 1973 1275gt engine. there is three layers of paint already on the engine, blue, red and black lol. does anybody know what colour the engine is supposed to be?

Think red but who give a choco chip. Paint it what you like.

1275 blocks were red standard - but paint it something bright - like kawasaki green

so ALL 1275 blocks were red, even 1275gt

No, only A+ 1275 blocks were red. Most Leyland era Minis (like yours) had black engines I think. Anorak will know for sure!

Mk3 engines were black so presumably the 1275GT would also be black.
