I have a 96 spi. At the mo I have a Ripspeed head unit with two sony xplod 6x9's. But when i'm driving and i sar flash my main beam lights or put the indicator on everything temporarily cuts out for a few seconds. And lately when this happens the car sort of skips a beat and feels like it wants to cut out. but this only happens rarely.

I believe my options are-
get an amp to power my speakers,
change the alternator
or whatever anyone else could suggest? Would an amp solve my problemo?

Also I'm not sure if the problem could be linked to my battery. In that since i replaced it about 2 months ago the minus terminal keeps disconnecting. I have tightened the bolt but it wont go any tighter and just wont grip the battery terminal. So sometimes after a journey I when i go to start the engine again i have to go to the boot and reconnect the battery. Is there anyway i can secure this.

cheers, tim

Get a new battery earth cable. They cost a couple of quid (less than a fiver certainly) and you can get them from pretty much all car parts places. It'll be far easier and probably cheaper than changing the clamp on the existing cable would.
