Been added before, back in June, but well worth a read if you're considering some form of communications between mini's for any events next year...

Lots of information about CB, what does what, what you need and how to install it. CB and PMR446 walkie talkies compared,

CB Radio package deals and starter packs for Minis are available.

Anyone got any CB related questions - post, i'll do my best to help.

I have had a good read through some of the previous posts on wiring in a new radio/cb

I have a further question which is...when installing a cb, is it ok to take a splice from the existing radio wiring? Rather than go down the complete new wiring route.

I remember the old days of CB radio, my mum and brothers always had them. My old man was a trucker so we knew loads of people who had CBs. How popular is it now days? I've not seen many aerials on car for at least 20 years! Or maybe im just not looking!

I could revive my old handle, Watchdog. =]

if you want your car to look perfect CB aerials are not the way forward :)

but you dont always have to have it on, you can unscrew them I think.

no not really.
The antenna (aerials only recieve  ) really need clear line of sight to work well and should be mounted vertically. i used a very short mag mount for a while but went back to a very long 1970's whip and had much better results.

the ones mounted on a boot on a mini look best (like a radio controlled car)
