Tesco and asda oil is good for flushing the oil out etc, because its a good thickness and its cheap.

Never heard of the other stuff, i dont believe in the oil treatments. I would just change the oil regularly.

A good quality oil will already have all the additives it needs !!! Adding a large extra quantity of one will upset the balance and is a recipe for problems !

Regarding the nitrox Hotshot, Yeah I've used this - and I actually had a boost of power while it was in the tank (one bottle to a full tank - bottle only treats 15 litres), Though my car was not "tuned" to use the increase in octane rating, my car was (still is) in need of the timing adjusted and / or mixture (still a little "lumpy" and gutless on hills), so may have been closer to what was needed for the nitrox to do something. Prob timing too advanced and running rich.

Word of warning though - the main "active" ingredient of this stuff is METHANOL (65% methanol, + "other"(?) additives - this is not listed on the bottle, only in certain chemical safety / handling data sheets), and methanol is NOT good for plastic fuel lines (unless Methanol / Ethanol compatable or copper line is used), rubber (seals, fuel line etc.) unless alcohol tollerant, and most of all ALUMINIUM (and guess what the carb / inlet is made from!).
In short - Yeah it works, but just don't use it every day or you'll find it's eating your fuel system! will be fine for the "occasional" use, but obviously you would need to adjust you engine to make full use of it, each time.

All in all, not worth it, unless your doing a track day event or something similar. Might be good to clean out some of the "gunk" that builds up, once a year though.
