at the moment i have a single 1 1/2 carb and am looking at upgrading to a weber 45. i know its a big step but this is the first part of the engine mods i want to do.
i know to fit the webber you need a weber box put in plus all the linkages and the the manifold. besides these is there anything else that has to be modded to make the weber work.
the weber im buying is jetted for my requirements and all the linkages installed.
has anyone done this mod that would like to give me a rough idea of the process please.
thanks
mike

What sort of exhaust manifold do you have? You will need to move away from the original cast manifold and get an LCB or something on there.
They say that the 5" Weber DCOE inlet is the shortest you should use really (rather than the restricted swan neck types).
Oooh, make sure that you have a servo take off point on there (if you need one) and also a vacuum advance/retard take off for the dizzy (again, if you need one).

a sevro is a part of your braking system that needs vacum to work, hence the need for a vacum take off point this is only needed if you have a servo?
when i brouht my weber it was supposidly set up for engine spec but when running and certain speeds it had flat spots so it is best to take it to a rolling road and have it setup/tuned.
what engine spec are you running? as it sounds like you will be more suited to a weber 40 if you are running a 1 1/2 carb now, this will still be a great improvment over your 1 1/2 su.

Personally I'd make the webber one of the last mods you do, at least at the top end, do the head, cams, rockers, valves, springs, etc first.
