I have never been happy with the cooling system on my r1.
It would suddenly go up to 120 and spit water out every where and other days it is fine.
I have set it up as the r1 bike with the coolant reservoir now and all seems fine. The expansion tank is always filled right to the top now instead of half full. So any expansion goes into the reservoir and gets syphoned back when cool.

Anyone else had any bother?

To be honest no.

Probably not the answer you wanted to hear When we first filled it up the expansion tank was filled to the top and it spat out what it didn't want when it got up to temps. Since then it's been fine (touch wood).

The temps get to around 110ish i think if driven hard but generally won't go much over 100.
