What the hell is going wrong with my electrics, brand new battery and brand new alternator and coil...
Thing is it was working fine till I fiddled around with the stereo removing it and re-wiring it as best as I can (It doesnt drain battery etc and starts/works fine so cannot be this surely) and the only other thing I have changed is a 12v Air horn system which is operated of a seperate switch which will only work when ignition is on...??

Please can someone shed light upon this?!

My guess is that when it rains, water is getting into one or both of the rear light clusters causing it to short.

Am having the same problem with mine, they seem to pop regularly and I have been through enough from different sources to figure it cant just be cheap C**p units. It always seems to pop after a rainy period and there seems to be some water collecting in one of the back clusters...

Until I fix the leak I wont know for sure though !

flasher units have normally closed contacts 'n need the correct load to flash so there's every chance the fault lies else where - shorting poor contacts etc.

Interstingly hazard flashers are the other round to tend to flash regardless. always thought it'd make sense to wire a hazard flasher up for direction indicators.

They are what you use to 'indicate' to other road users that you are about to change direction

Jimmyarm should I take a butcher at my back lights!? How do you get in from the outside or via inside the boot?

There are 3 screws on the outside, one at the top and two at the bottom My cunning plan was to run a bead of bathroom sealant under the lens and plonk it back on, havent got round to doing it yet.

I put some el cheapo after market clear lens's on the back which dont quite fit properly which is why water gets into one of them I thinks.

If you want to test them, just spray the hose at them for a bit on each one. You'll soon see if they are filling up !
