does anyone have any information on the austin 1800 engines? Mainly just the cylinder head. Tried doing a search but nothing relevant came up.
Dont worry im not thinking about dopping one into my mini that would be foolish, just want to have a look at something to do with the cylinder head.
thanks

what do you need to know?
the 1800's B series head is pretty similar to a small bore A series head but bigger.

basically will the head off an 1800 fit the block of a 1275?
Obviously im not expecting it to bolt straight on but does it line up with the a-series block or is this not possible at all? Im doubting wether it will as one is a and the other b series plus with the difference in engine volume i doubt the cylinders will line up with the combustion chambers on the head?

For information on the 1800, don't look for it by Googling for Austin. Google MGB. The block is wider and longer than the A-series so the head is correspondingly bigger.

Most unlikely head swap for lots of reasons and there'd be better and easier options.
B Series went into the MGB so I bet there's enough info on the web if you look.
