Does anyone know where the best places are to anchor the 4-point harness' too?

what age is your car? it looks like a sportpack mpi? if it is then there should be some mounting points for rear belts in the back which you can use and you use the lower 2 for your front belts once they are removed.

That's pretty much the only place that is acceptable when you bear in mind the required running angles of the various straps and the strength of panels. The only other way to do it is to have a cage with custom harness points, or I suppose to massively reinforce the parcel shelf. Without reinforcement the parcel shelf is useless and dangerous to mount to.

Your car is required to keep rear seatbelts by law remember, the way to mount the harness in this case is to replace the seatbelt mounting bolts with screw eyese and use a harness mounted by these that clips in. That may not be entirely acceptable to the MOT though as I think the harness has to be non-removeable. Obviously this makes it very uncomfortable for anyone in the rear seat because your harness is around their body which also could be quite dangerous. If you want to ditch the rear belts, you must ditch the rear seat too. The penalty for being caught with rear seats that don't have belts in your particular car is a fine up to £1000.00 in case you were wondering. No points though.

Not if you don't have any rear seats. My MOT guy when by "No seat, no seat belts". Unless I've misunderstood something here in which case I blame the voices.

my mini has sparco harnesses and has back seats fitted but no blets in the rear and passed m.o.t and my mini mad mate of over 20+ years has never put seatbelts in the back of his minis with rear seats and front harnesses..

Belts in the rear all depends on the age of the car to start with

where would you mount 3-point harness in the back then to get correct angles?

You have to fabricate something to mount a 3 point harness properly and safely. Ideally a point midway between the exsiting rear lap belt points.

my mini has sparco harnesses and has back seats fitted but no blets in the rear and passed m.o.t and my mini mad mate of over 20+ years has never put seatbelts in the back of his minis with rear seats and front harnesses..

Very nice but it means nothing. All cars first used after some date in 1987 (I put the exact date in another thread the other day if you need it, can't remember it now) need belts for all forward facing rear seats. If you remove the factory fitted belts and fail to fit a new belt you are interfering with a seatbelt installation which is punishable with a maximum £1000.00 fine. As I said before. Since this thread is about a 1989 car it applies. "I've done it and I've never been caught" doesn't mean we shouldn't inform people about the risk they are taking by possibly breaking the law does it? The law's the law and your mate, Mini mad or not is not a superior authority.

There is a diagram in the FAQ section on safe mounting angles of harnesses....

Its easy, take the rear seat cushions out and put a load of these http://www.screwfix....s...85&id=51407 on the bottom bit, then the MOT man/Police can clearly see the rear seat is not in fact a seat anymore !
