Hello to all im new so appy days every 1 i got a 1275 A+ engine fitted into my mini city this time last year paid jst ova a grand for a engine and gearbox to be fitted into it that ran for about 2-3 weeks and the head gasket busted between 2 and 3 (usual) took it bk to the place i had it dne and new gasket fitted all seemed fine but never ran aswell as it did when i 1st had it dne and after about 6-7 weeks it went again and has gone again since having that fitted. I have been told by a mechanic that there is a 6 thou dip or bow on tha block when he used a straight edge. as i never received a receipt although i asked 4 1. the people that fitted the engine because it was second hand said that it was no longer there problem i have inquired to c how much it would cost to fix the problem and im getting prices bk at 750 and i have got to drop my engine out, get it to them and fit bk in again so think it would be cheaper 4 me to get another 1 as i am very reluctant to give up on my prodject (spent too much) wuts your thoughts peeps any 1 no where i can get 1 reasonably priced?

I know the cylinder head can be skimmed if it's warped through overheating, but I'm not sure about the engine block itself?

Either way after paying that sort of money I'd go and talk to citizens advice and find out where you stand.

The head is most probably warped, and it sounds like the block is too. Im afraid if that is the case its an engine strip down job to deck the block and skim the head. It would be a lot cheaper for you to get another engine and drop that in. Or...it could be the beginning of a nice engine project too! I spent around 2-3k on my old mini engine rebuilding it, but it was SO worth it when I drove it properly after running it in and rolling road tuning it! :P
