Can't remember if the connections on the relay are correct (can check later if you want) but basically that is how mine is wired up.

Fuses in mine are 5A on the switch side and 10A (which was a bit of a guess but hasn't blown yet) on the pump side

Facet silver top pump by the way

I would be very cautious about using a relay with the inertia switch.

The inertia switch should be in the main feed to the pump. Think what would happen if the relay was to weld shut in the event of an accident

With decent guage wire and a good switch I can't really see the need for a relay in the fuel pump circuit. I know the injection minis use relays but I thought that was more to allow the ECU to control the pump than anything else.

The Facet units don't draw that much current anyway do they?

Hmmm, okies, fankoo guys. I'll put the inertia switch directly in line between the relay and the pump, cheers MS.

I deffo want a relay in there, I'm having the pump on a seperate hidden toggle switch, so I don't want to run the pump straight off the switch.

I might have the positive side of the switch fed off the position 2 terminal of the ignition barrel, so I can leave the switch on for normal use, then just use it as a sort of immobiliser when I feel like it.

Okies, just need to think about the fuse for the pump now, after what Udo's said I'll probably go for a 10A and carry a few spare ones in the glove box.

Dammit, I hate wiring, but I've spent most of the weekend playing around with loads of different wires! :-

Also, if the pin numbers are right (which I'm pretty certain they are after a quick web search) the relay I have is a dud! I tried wiring it up like it is on my diagram and it didn't kick in! Motor factors on the way home again then!

Just because me want one! :-

No, it's going to be hidden, so that it immobilises the fuel system. But then again, my ignition system has an immobiliser too.
