What is the best way to bring back the colour on a red mini with quite a bit of paint fad -

I was thinking T cut and some serious waxing

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :-

What you want to do is use an abrasive polish such as menz IP and then top it with a glaze and wax, and you will be sorted! Ideally you want to use a machine polish, but hand polishing will produce some good results, but a lot of work!

Where abouts are you based as i might be able to sort you out!?

Rubbing compound...this removes a layer of paint kind of but rub it in with water or you could damege the paintwork.

Ok, kl.

Well yeah, if its single stage paint, and the paint hasn't worn off, then normally very sortable without a respray!

agree

start with lightest cut you can, i think the menz might be a bit strong for old Mini paint, that and its a bugger by hand.

If its all done by hand, try the Megs 3 step system to bring some colour/life back into it.

If working by hand you could try megs scratch-x but you will be there a while. or something like autoglym paint renovator (might be restored, can't remember)

My girlfriends corsa had some nasty fading action going on, I gave it a serious seeing too with normal Autoglym resin polish and my el cheapo halfords polisher and it got rid of it all :- It does take a good seeing too where you have to do the bits by hand

you need a porter cable, it wil bring the paint back up 2 nearly show room finish, t-cut would b good as it fairly abrasive, then use the meguiars 3 step from then on to keep the shine and protect the paint.
