Hi all, i'v got a 1275 engine out of an MG metro, now i know the metro's started using the 1275 A+ engine but then when they became MG's the engines changed to a more high powered unit. Is this an A engine or is it still an A+ engine??

Or alternatively are there any numbers on the block which will tell me what it is?

It's definitely A+ and I've got the same type fitted to my 1990 Mainstream Mini Cooper.

You can find all the engine identification details for Minis and Metro's here: -
