Does a studio 2 require a ballast coil. I am upgrading to electronic ignition and think I have been sold the wrong lucas coil.

Thanks

If there is a pink/white wire going to the coil on there then yes it does (the coils usually have this written on them too).

If you are installing and ignitor or similar you need to take a 12v feed from the fuse box to bypass the ballast wire. The top left blade works.

You could remove the ballast system but then you lose its benefits.

Worth noting that you will need to reset the timing once you have installed the kit, which is why mine is still on the shelf in the garage !

It has a ballast resistor. If that is the case where can I get the 12v supply from for the ignition. From the fuse box or the solenoid.

Thanks
