Working on an engine - Needs cleaning

Basically I want the block to be spotless, I dont want the chance of any debris floating around in it to shorten the life of the rebuilt engine.
What in your collective minds is the best way to give an intensive clean? Someone suggested acid dripping? Either way if you know of anywhere in kent preferably near maidstone, tonbridge etc... then suggestions are welcome.
I'm not so fond of the idea of "gunk" and a water spray (call me mad but I was always brought up with the firm belief - iron and water = rust )
But send me pics to prove me wrong if you have them.
Cheers.

Other than that give it a damn good blast with a parrafin gun if u have one. Should get nice n clean and won't rust like the gunk process.

I've been doing just that this weekend... I have used a combination of wire brush drill attachment, dremel with a small wire brush to get into small areas and then cloths and cellulose thinners to clean. I managed to do one side of my block, and paint it, in about an hour this way... doing the other side next weekend
I'm also probably mad, but my block is being painted gloss black
I've got the gloss black and blue high temp paint waiting for this bad boy. So once its clean etc.. it'll be shiny as anything

I had my block cleaned inside and out after re-honing at Evenden Engineering in sutton valence (just down the road from maidstone). The clean was free of charge as i had the work done there but doubt it would be more than a tenner at the very most if they charge u that is.

I want a thorough clean inside aswell as out though. To get rid of all the debris, i could maybe able to make a set of dentures with the teeth floating around in it lol
Dude VV
