I need to strip my White Cooper door mirrors before colour coding. I have worked out how to remove the blck mounting piece but I'm stuck with the glass and the black rim that holds it in place. I can see a drain hole underneath but dont want to pole around too much without some advice!

I “think” there bonded together, when I painted mine to mach the rest of the trim I just masked off the mirror and black rim.

They are a 1 piece unit that doesn't come apart. It's glued shut as above. Do you have the white ones or the Old English White ones? The plain white ones are used for colour coding and were what Rover used as a base for painting. Just need plastic priming.
