Anyone knows why minisport shipping charge is so expensive?
do they earn from shipping rather than the products?

Don't know, but is it the same kind of price for the other Mini Specialists too?

Have you tried Somerford Mini Specialists?

I find that it's cheaper to order my stuff from MiniSpares now, their postage is cheaper and they normally come from the other end of the country! MiniSport is only an hour away! The stuff is usually cheaper and better.

because in a word they are rubbish.

I would strongly suggest getting someone local to them to buy it (whatever it is?) for you and post it privately.

Likely to cost less and actually arrive when they say it will.

i have had it with minisport and would never use them again. well unless they have the part in stock. and i collect it.

I just bought a pair of cobra classics and some chrome sill strips from them - they posted the lot for £10.

I was pretty pleased with that as the seats are huge and kinda heavy!

Also I ordered them on Wednesday and they arrived on Monday which I was perfectly happy with.

I ordered over the phone and I think I spoke to their sales manager who was very helpful because I rand a few times asking about prices and suchlike.

Have heard lots of bad things about MiniSport but found them very helpful and friendly, and was pleased with the quick delivery and packaging of the items I bought

I was thinking of buying a 7.9" four pot brake kit and the postage shown online to the Isle of Man was something daft.

When i emailed them to query the postage it came down to £15 which was a bit more like it, i think it pays to phone.

I have only bought from them once and called in to collect whilst on holiday, phoned first to check their stock though.

I just have doubts about how they come up with shipping costs.

I have ordered some stuffs from minispares the other week before, delivered by UPS express to my country. There are some parts I am unable to find in minispares, therefore I ordered from minisport. Minisport gave me two shipping options, one by UPS and the other by international air parcel. I am certain that the things I ordered from Minisport are far less heavy than those I ordered from minispares. But the shipping cost by UPS that minisport quoted to me was almost the same as minispares charged me.

OK, I finally go for the cheaper way by international air parcel. Parcel arrived and I learned that this one from minisport weights about 12kgs less than my previous order from minispares! I suppose 12kgs is a big difference in weight, and I am still wondering how they come up with over 100gbp for shipment by UPS.

i'm certain that shippers give discounts to their customers. so maybe minispares ships higher volume per month than other shops so they get a better shipping discount.

like some sites could afford to ship a heavy guitar amp for free, where as smaller sites couldn't send a ukulele

I'm not sure, but give them a ring because their very helpful and won't mess you around. Well I was more than impressed with the service I got off them this week anyway because the parts I ordered arrived on the day as promised.

I'm lucky as I live down the road from the Oldbury Minispares centre and there's a few Mini specialists in the area. Minisport are in a few bad books by the look of it. There'll be big crowds of people with burning torches and pitchforks storming Minisport HQ before long.
