I've only had a short time to check on previous posts, so apologies if I've missed this being discussed previously.
My wife drive a '97 Rover Cooper 1.3i, and had to have the front section of the exhaust replaced last year by A-GARAGE here on the Isle of Man. She has to drive over a short but high speed bump that has totally shredded the woven metal fibre part of the exhaust, thus creating a 'holed' exhaust, with the pipe in front of this showing major effects of being scraped.
A-GARAGE have put a new exhaust pipe on, and it's sitting even lower, and scraping on speed bumps the car cleared previously. A-GARAGE say that this is the only part now supplied to them for these Mini's, and the can't put any protection on as the exhaust would then become too stiff.
As A-GARAGE had sorted out a major exhaust-to-engine connection out the last time, (you can now tell the limit of my knowledge with this !), that's why we went back to them.
There are no other 'major' dealers here on the Island, so my question for all of you is where do you get your standard exhausts from, as my wife likes her Mini the way it is. (Not like last year when flames were coming out of the back, and the sound was great !!!!).
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
