Has anyone tried, tested or run an electronic supercharger, and do they work?

Do you mean the "PC fan in a tube" ones, in which case save you're money...
The only electric superchargers which work, are the ones which are powered by LARGE motors, for which you need extra batteries to run.. and they are NOT cheap

There is very little if no benefit, They do exist, but most will pull somewhere between 25-150bhp to drive so plus mechanical drag requires an electric motor to handle this. At which point you'd be better putting the motor into driving the wheels rather than the supercharger.
The major downfall in addition to above is weight, Electric motors of this size tend to be very heavy and bulky (there are low weight compact systems out there but you are looking at mega bucks)
Then as has been said you would need additional batteries, these would need to be charged when you fill up (assuming they last that long).
If you are looking at the ones on ebay etc, they are weapons grade B***S***!!!! And save your money.
Garrett were working on a Electrically boosted turbo, for antilag (just to spool the turbo up), which only requires a small capacitor to operate. Although I am unaware if this project is still running.
