Hi All
Need Help urgent. Can a 72 Morris 1300 (rubbered cross) Engine and box fit into a 74 mini 1000.
If so what needs to be changed
Have to get car on the road asap have dead 1000 and great 1300 motors and boxes and nill money

If it's a remote gearbox, check the clearance of the bolts which hold the remote to the gearbox. In the ADO16 variant they are attached with horizontal bolts but with the mini they are attached vertically..

If it's rod change then there are no issues

The other thing is that the 1300 engine will have a silly short diff in it (3.6,3.7 or 4.1) so it may be worth taking that out, replacing with something like a 3.4 and at the same time replace the output shafts for pots and ditch the crucifix.

Or the alternative is (as long as it's not a 3 synch ) put the existing mini gearbox on the 1300, as there's no difference between them.

Can I swap the mini diff straight into the 1100/1300 housing?
And does the remote gear off the 1100/1300 fit into the minis rod change sub frame??

The subframes are the same, but if the mini is designed for a rod change, then a remote gear change will NOT fit without modifications to the tunnel. In this eventuality, swap the box from the 998 onto the 1300...
