British Leyland was the car manufacturer, just like Rover in later years so you won't always find Minis under that name.
In fact my first Mini which was a 1975 MKIII 1000, was registered as a Morris Mini 1000 even though it wore the little blue British Leyland badges and there wasn't a Morris badge anywhere in sight!
So if it's a Mr Bean type Mini you want, then you need to look for an early MKIV Mini 1000 which could be registered as Morris or even Austin perhaps?

Badge Engineering! It's Badge Engineering..!
Isn't it that under British Leyland days, the make Austins or Morrises still used to retain it's loyal customers to the brands althou it's the same car??
And also for foreign sales, it's usually use one make name, either Morris or Austin; like in Indonesia all Minis are branded Morris up until it's discontinued in 1979, the same goes for Australia, while in the USA all Minis are branded Austin.

It was while the car was under the ownership of Leyland that the name Mini first became used as a brand in its own right. The cars are officially just Minis, not Leyland Minis. The name Leyland had quite a negative effect from even before the company was formed up into one disorganised mess and wasn't desirable for sales.
