These where a success so Rover then started producing the Cooper (carb model). Then was replaced by the spi cooper followed by the sportspack
The RSP (rover special production) had only slight differences to the mainstream coopers. ie slightly different minilights.
hope this helps

The RSP was a "tester" To start production again for the cooper. These where very limeted.

Or by the alloys. If the Nuts line up with a fins from the minilight its a RSP, if the nuts line up between the fins of the minilight is a mainstream.

Theres something about them not actually being RSP specific, because some RSP's did actually come from the dealerships fitted with the later, more common Minilights with the offset holes as standard. So its not always something which can be used to determine the difference like if you know what I mean
Wow you learn somthing new everyday. I just going from what i read in the orical that is mini mag.
NOTE TO SELF: DONT ALWAYS BELIEVE THE ORICAL!

But the RSP wasn't really a tester because Mainstreams were coming off the production line at virtually the same time and the Rover Product Report also stated that once the RSP's sold out the Mainstream model would replace them.

the RSP (rover special products) was the special edition launch model for the rover coopers, the lower spec mainstream was always planed from the start, and yes the wheels "should" be RSP specific (and mini 30, flame, racing, check mate) but in reality the wheels were mixed up on the production line so you can't always rely on them.
for some genuine rover information on the two cars take a look here..... click click
and for the full mainstream spec click here.... click click
PS: nice to know some people are listening

PPS: if your talking about the car in your avatar, it's an RSP

PPPS: Bungle... your sisters RSP is gorgeous
