Freddie's slowly falling apart  though, who can blame him really, poor mini :( He's been neglected a lot, but other priorities (house and wedding) leaves little money for him.

He's been off the road for a few weeks, the wiring's shot, which led to a lovely time when we were trying to go home. He started, he reversed out of the parking spot, he cut out, tried starting again and smoke started to come out from behind the dash with not even a click from turning the key

Neil's been to minispares though and picked up some stuff for the pick up and Freddie, yay! ^_^
-Loom
-New sump plug and washer
-Large grille screws
-2 new Brake discs
-new brake pads

Need to get the loom done before Riv Run and brakes too! The discs on him at the moment must be warped, so braking at speeds over 30 is nice and juddery  so new ones will be nice

The grille screws definitely need to go in, all but 1, possibly 2 of his current screws have run away... :errr: easy job at least =]

New sump plug and washer will probably get done when I do an oil and filter change in preparation for Riv Run, but it's not a huge deal if it gets changed, just makes sense to do it then!

Ooooooooooooooooh!!! :w00t: almost forgot, I now have new wheels and tyres for Freddie! :dontgetit: Actually got them a little while ago...just forgot to update here  They're revos which are 6x12 (I think...can't remember :) ) Needed new tyres, Neil saw these second hard with good tyres, which cost about the same as new tyres, so we have wheels too!

They're on the pick up at the moment, but Neil's just got himself some tyres so the revos will come back to Freddie =]

Even his thread got neglected!

one of them didnt go far though. it only went as far as your front drivers side tyre!

Dont know why I put them on the pick up, never used it with them on!
I need to paint the wellers first. Will do that this weekend. Then have the tyres fitted to the wheels and you can have the revos back! And yeah, there 12x6

Thanks mini mad69 :xmas:

He's looking quite ratty at the moment, what with the shoddy paint job that the previous owner did, so it's all flat, the chrome bits are quite rusty :ermm: and the roof rack hasn't come off since we used them to get the wheels :xxx:* I kind of like it.

Once the house is bought and the wedding done, then I can start saving for the refurb, which is going to be pretty full on and totally different from how he is now. That's a little while off though

It'll just carry on as doing enough to keep him road worthy until then ^_^

Completely forgot about this earlier, new speakers are going in as well before Riv Run! The original speakers went kaput a couple of years ago, so there were some 6x9s in there, but they're Neil's, so they're in the pick up now.

I actually picked up a pair of speakers at IMM 2010, just haven't fitted them as they didn't slot straight in. Planning on getting some speaker spacers and put them in then.

Yeah its pretty much plug and play. But like I said I dont really have the time. its really time consuming taking down the headling feeding up the A pillairs routing though the engine bay etc. To someone whos not done one before its a really long job

Freddie to do list before Riv:

Have new loom fitted
Re fit the Revos
Oil change and service
fit new sump plug and washer
fit new large grille screws
fit new petrol cap
Put better seat/s in (drivers side collapsed) - might use the SPI seats that were in the pick up as they are out of it at the moment

Also need to fix passanger window! Just found the new runners.

I wonder if we could fix the driver's seat...if not, we've got 2 other sets of seats we could use, might have to go back to original Freddie seats!

No, that stuff won't take long at all Dave :D except loom... :D I'll leave that to the lovely mister Dan for now ;)

I'm looking forward to driving Freddie on his 6x12s, wonder what it'll feel like :P

Neil, did you get new brakes and pads? Can't remember if we said yes or no to getting them :P

Woop, almost ready for Riv Run :D

Kel did the loom for us in the end and fitted the new brake discs and pads too. As per usual with Freddie, it wasn't quite so easy as plug and play with the loom :dozing: Freddie's connectors didn't match up with the new loom, so Kel had to do a bit of playing about to get it to fit. But first try starting him up and VROOOOM!! :D

It was so good to drive him back home and have brakes that didn't cause the car to judder :D Plus stopping power has increased as well, always a plus

So, as Neil had a pretty nasty hangover on Friday, we didn't get round to doing anything else to Freddie until yesterday, where we:
- Swapped Freddie's old 5x12 minilites with his new 6x12 Revos that were on Sonic, which took a long ass time!! :dozing:
- Oil change
- New oil filter in
- New sump plug in
- Tried emptying the radiator so we could flush it out and put new water in, but couldn't get the sensor off to empty it :dozing:
- So instead, just topped up the coolant and water in the rad...
- Roof rack off
- Emptied him and the boot
- Changed the front two seats as the old drivers' one had collapsed.
- Annoying thing is the new seats we had bought won't fit unless we bolt them to the floor, which I don't really want to do, so took the old Cooper seats from the SPI and put them in instead.

We also sprayed Neil's wellers and steering wheel.

Didn't do a lot today, just:
- Cleaned him inside and out, the paint is sooooooo bad now :) need to do something about the roof really...
- The front wheels were rubbing on the arches, the lovely Alex Crosse kindly cut out what was needed and now there's only a little bit of rubbage :)
- He also had a look at the washer jet pump that wasn't working and got that to work, yay! ^_^
- Unclogged the driver's washer jet (again...), only for it to clog up again, so going to fit some new ones tomorrow.
- Cleaned up the left, front indicator that was playing up again, the connector had gotten really gunked up, so that works now too
- Stuck the sound deadening and carpet that keeps falling down in the passenger footwell back up, now it no longer sits in the footwell, hooray for spray on adhesive! :D

I'm liking the new wheels ^_^

Tomorrow's to do list:
- Fit the new speakers and wire them up
- Fix the stereo wiring
- Fit new washer jets, might need new tubing...
- Wire the cigarette lighter back in
- Put the passenger window on to the new runners

Decided not to fit the new fuel cap on, don't want some tool to come along and try to steal the fuel again by ripping it off :mmkay:

And I think that is it... :errr: yeah...

In true freddie style, you buy him something and he plays up. so you buy him a brand new loom, and he make sure he has a power drain!
