Looking good Charlie! I'm keeping everything crossed for the MOT for you too! It should stand half a chance though if you've done everything on your list. Will the garage you take it to be a Mini-friendly place? IIRC there's someone on 16vminiclub who's just south of Bristol (I think W-S-M) who has an MOT garage.....might be worth a look on there.

Right, I managed to get the Mini in for an MOT at the same place they did the welding.

So the mini is having the MOT today! Eeeeeeee

So in preperation a new fanbelt was fitted last night, first time ive done it. Fiddley, but I managed!

Then got up to 80 on the motorway, but only 70mph on the GPS, he he.

Oh one thing though, after 20 mins of driving, I was sat at traffic lights and the revs were dipping then picking back up, then dipping etc. From about 1000 revs to 900 so not much. Any idea what that is? Fuel mixture?

Could just be in need of a tune up after being off the road to be honest Charlie. Maybe the timing could do with a little tweaking?

Could be a slight airleak, could be timing, could be oil needed in the dashpot or possibly the coil connections.

Well the bad news:

It failed :sneaky:

The good news:

If failed on a subframe mount and a tyre.

So getting the subframe mount done at the garage tonight, hopefully.

And getting a nice set of all 4 shoes; Yoko's! Treat for the mini almost getting through the MOT

Bit pricey but i found the Falkens a bit tricky in the wet.

So hopefully it will all be ready to be taxed tomorrow!!! Yay!! Toot Toot!

Will keep you posted.

So far:

Welding: £150
Mot: £45
Subframe mount replacing: £50
Tyres: £220 (fitted - I hope!)
Tax: Think its £120??

So thats:

£585 to get the beast back on the road :-

And that doesnt include the new fanbelt, sparkplugs etc I got.

Ah well, least it looks like I can go to the Ring!

Well done Charlie.

Yeah Falken "deathmasters" are not nice in the wet, found this out on the way home from MITP. spun it on a corner, but recovered quite well lol. Also aquaplaning isnt nice!!
