right i've bought some group 2 fiberglass arches and i'm wondering how i should go about prepping and spraying them considering they're fiberglass? i know you have to use plastic primer on plastic so what do you use on fiberglass? also there is a white coating over the fiberglass on the surfaces that you see when the arches are fitted so am i right in thinking that this coating would then have plastic primer sprayed on, then primer, then top coat?

prepping and spraying minispares fiberglass group 2 arches

First off, PLease try using the search function, it works... honest! Fibreglass Prep has been covered many many times and all the questions are answered fully, even some with pictures
However, I'm happy to help.
First off,... the white shiny coating you speak of Is called a Gel coat. You need to flatten this back using 600-800grit Wet and dry (used wet is easiest) until it loses all it's shine and goes to a 'Matt' finish. Then Degrease it throroughly using white spirit/celly thinners/whatever. Make sure there's no dust.
Now you can add your primer, Add about 3 light coats,.. 3 light coats will equal 1 nice one when it's hardened, instead of 3 heavy coats that are lumpy and uncured. Iv'e seen some people just use plastic primer... and some peple use plastic primer.. and then auto primer over the the top, both results came out fine.
When the primer has cured,.. crack out the 800grit wet and dry again. flat it back so that it all feels silky smooth (Try not to go through to the gel coat)
Degrease again,... Very heavily.
Now you're ready for spraying colour.
