Hi I am rebuilding my engine and i have just put the crankshaft back in, i have come to attach the corods to the crank and i cant work out which way round they bolt on, i have the pistons so that they read front on the top but when i come to bolt it together at the bottom of the conrods which way do the bottom halves go? viewed from the timing chain end the writing is the right way up.
basicly i dont know whether the tabs on the shell bearings should be side by side or diagonally opposite from each other.
Hope i have made some sense there
Thank you
Dan

I think i get what you're saying. If you established whish way round the pistons go, and the order or the pistons, then matching the big ends (bottom halves) is simply a case of matching up the machining marks, so theres no steps etc etc between the conrod and the big end.
The tabs for the bearings should be at diaganols to each other as far as im aware.
Hope this helps.
