Do I Need A Battery?

i have a buggy with an 850cc mini engine in it and i would like to know short term if it would be ok to connect the charger straight to the battery leads and turn the charger on?? With this blow the circuit or charger as i just want to know if theres a spark?

the charger wont cope with the power that will be drawn when you turn the engine over. a mini battery is pretty cheap, around £20 to £25. the part number is 038, although different shops may put their own letters in front of it.

if you're in sussex, i can do mini batteries at £19.99 inc vat, and an uprated one like metro turbos use for £21.15 inc vat.

i dont think royal mail will be too pleased to have a battery in the back of their van. by the time it gets to you it would have spilt out all the acid anyway.

have a look in the yellow pages, under motor factors. they are normally cheaper, and if they are a small independent company they are more willing to offer discounts when you're quite regular. my company does, the regulars get treated to free tea and coffee as well - so far this week i havent had to pay for any cigarettes as one customer gave me 200 because i managed to save him £90 - easy when he tried halfrauds first lol
