Hello everybody,

Just to say 'ello really. Bought my min when I was 15, did a half arsed rebuild, got it back on the road for a year before melting (literally) the cylinder head, am now trying to do a proper job of the mechanicals! Joined because I found a really useful thread that saved me a gearbox rebuild!

Jobs still to go:
Buy 10x6 cosmics from mate
Fiesta front brake conversion (and run the rear lines through the inside! ;D)
Rollcage (can't say I enjoy the thought of a crash without one...)..

Anyway, now to start leaching information from all you learned mini nerds! :-

speak soon,

al

Have you checked what a cage will do to your insurance?

Cheers guys - forgot I posted this!

With the rollcage it's just a case of do it and then sort out insurance later. I've had a few close calls in the limited time my car's been on the road and I felt I had about as much crash protection as the hazelnut in a ferrero rocher has... I'm 23 with only a years no claims so it will probably be a bit steep. Probably going to have to go through miniworld or something, specially with the brakes...

I planned on routing the lines through the inside as I wanted the balance to be perfect in the wet and fit an adjustable pressure regulating valve inside the car so I can reduce the max rear line pressure in the dry. However since then I've heard these have got to be out of the reach of the driver to get through an MOT - may end up under the bonnet and using the standard lines...
