the bmw head should not be used on a 998. it is for large bore only so you are fine with that.

Can you not use the 8v on a small bore or something? I'm sure I've heard Morspeed have done a 998 variant with a BMW head, might be wrong though.

you can use the 16v on a small bore i was speeking to the owner of SC specil components at mini in the park
and he said yes it will go on a 998 with will require more fetterling ect to fit unless he did mean the 8v

also a standerd 1275 with a 8v head (bmw k1100) pumps out 107bhp thats with fuel injection ect but a standerrd head no porting or anything)

and 16v they say will pump out 140+ easy on a 1275 standerd thats from 62bhp so a 80bhp increase give or take

you only save nmoney on things like this when you do the work yourself.

SC components do the kit in such a way that you can buy it in seperate parts as and when you can afford it.

If you search the forums properly, you will find a lot of info on these conversions. Its not quite as simlpe as a straight head swap. Quite a few people on TurboMinis are doing this conversion.
Also dont forget to factor in the cost of EFI unit if u planning on running injection and throttle bodies etc.

you can only fit the 8v head to a 998 due to the spacing of the valves in the head. would be a great little sleeper if you wanted to keep it 998
