I'm mark and live in suffolk am 40 years old had a Mini in 1983 and a tree jumped out and totalled it and then life got me with kids wives and more kids and had several cars from fiestas to mini busses and 4x4 to scooters, have now decided to get another Mini and start having fun again.
I purchased a mini 1000 city just 2 days ago and am very pleased with it so far, it seems very sound under body and the body is not too bad a few weeping spots but only surface rust its an 1981 and part from the wheels its completely original at the moment.
I have brought a steering heel and boss to be fitted when they get here as i hate the thin one on there, the interior is quite bad and i tend to completely redo all but the seats new dash new carpets and underlay, new music system. the colour at the moment is white, but has had a re spay sometime in the past as the interior is beige with black dash and carpet, i tend to make the intra a silver/chrome and black and put a bit more chrome on the outside so that all matches ie (wheel arches black at the moment) and 4 spot/driving lights and chrome grill but other than that not sure what else i want to do to her. i did get an 1300cc engine with her when i brought her but not sure what condition its in it has no head on it and the pistons are dirty and have leafs in them (only a few) its been in a shed for 2 years so not sure yet what I'm going to do with it the engine in her is in good nick and has no oil water or and other leaks and runs fine starts first time every time without choke most of the time.
