Rear Seat Belts

hi i have an 1981 mini city i have got myself some seat rear seat belts coming but want to know is there fitting holes in the car or do i have to make new holes and what ever the answer where is the best place for them parcel shelf or back piller.

Your car will have mounting holes for three points but nowhere for a reel to be mounted. You will need multi angle reels mounted to the pillar or to create a mounting point for it in the pocket or a heavily reinforced parcel shelf. DO NOT fit a seatbelt to the parcel shelf without massively reinforcing the shelf, it is not designed to take seatbelt loads and is not capable of doing so. I have seen Minis with the belt mounted here after they crashed and it is not pretty. A fairly light loading on a seatbelt mounted to the shelf can almost turn the rear of the car inside out quite easily.

the belts i have on order are static belts not reel ones.
