I dont think the 180bhp will have any more torque, just more bhp because the rev range has been extended from 12000 to 14000rpm so you might only see the benefit if you are screwing the nuts off it all the time!

Why not? I change gear when the valves bounce.well i think the R1 rev's to about 12,000rpm BUT we prob wont be reving it that much ever..
show me a 4 stroke bike engine that will rev to 19000 .

kawasaki zxr250 redline 19500rpm if i remember correct and the rev counter stops at 22000rpm no good for powering a mini though!!
i would have thought an early R1 engine like 98 vintage would be better what with the stonger low down torque??

there were a few little race rep 250's 4 strokes that revved up there around 18k
