Hi guys i am new to this forum and here is my first post... This weekend Iam going to look at a mini which should have a 1275 MG Metro engine in it....How do I tell if it has or not ?.....

It'll have some code stamped on it not too sure exactly what it wil be tho- maybe do a google search? Or you could rag it on the test drive n see how well it goes >_< Sorry not much help but the most important thing for me is that the body is in fair nick- engine mods or replacements are fairly cheap and a lot easier than hours of cutting, welding, filling and sanding!!!!!

You could check the engine number against the 'TMF engine number Guide' that 'Guessworks' created for situations just like this!

Go to the FAQ section or do a search.

First three letters of the engine should be 12H. which will confirm it's a 1275 (H) transverse.
