I bought some clear rear lights with bulbs at L2B this year, the blubs are red and orange but when you look at the back of the car they are light red/orange and light orange/white respectively. Are they just crappy bulbs or are the clear lenses making them look a lighter colour?

sounds like C**p paint on the bulbs. re paint them or buy led replacements or good quaility silver bulbs. dont forget to fit reflectors if the lights dont have them built in

lol similar thing happened to me - i bought some clear lenses off ebay and when installed with the bulbs supplied, they looked orange!
Just invest in some better red bulbs where the paint is actually red, you can see the difference in quality when you hold a good one and a C**p one in the light.

Ok I'll try and get some decent bulbs at some point.

What do you mean by reflectors?
little red squares that you find on the reverse light of standard lenses. these are the lens from minispeed and they came with reflectors to mount under the bumper.
if you dont have them i believe it is a mot fail and possibly illegal

Hi
I found that mine worked better when I got some adhesive aluminium tape and stuck it on both sides of all the bulb separators. this removed the lights showing out of adjoining compartments.
