hi all,

ive been thinking about one of these for a while for 3 reasons- more power, great looks and to get some space for my weber to fit under my dash, as i havent got round to fitting the bulkhead box yet.

presently my engine is a 1380 (286 cam) with a 7" maniflow inlet manfold, weber 45, 100mm ram pipes and a big clumbersome k&n- its so close to me it almost sucks my rollies in the engine... ^_^

so the question is... has anyone used one before and do you guys think between 4-6 extra horses is actually achievable? i could see how it could give that gain if the engine wasnt particularly hot, but i (like to think) my is as hot as you would want to go on a road car. its bloody expensive, so i dont want to waste my dosh!

heres the link click

thanks in advance! :dontgetit:

I think you have to ask whether 4.6 horses is worth £170. In my opinion, no.

4-6 horses,.. you can lose/gain that amount by simply looking at two different rolling road tests on the same car...

I'd say it's a waste of money on anything But a racer... but it's a good Pub bragging item.

It think if you really want something to make the car feel and go better, your money would be better spent on a lighter flywheel or something of that nature. Heck you could even save the £170 and put it towards a turbo conversion, £170 should get you most of the bits...

i have one of those ITB stubstack on my 1380 and it does make a difference in power output, good noise too

not just about power! :@

its a comparison between running stacks (no K&N or socks) against this filtered system
your probably gaining about 10-12 on the K&N.

just havent got around to it yet- im lazy! :dontgetit:

but yeah, im sure MED arent going to lie too- they were brill when they built my engine up. but i have the ultralight fly, almost pornographic crank, sc box and the rest. to get more power i got to go the EFI route or this... and im not a big turbo fan, i dont like the idea of turbo lag, even though i havent driven a turbo'd mini.

whats the outlay for EFI? or DIY 'charger conversion? (but in realty, im sure i cant afford that!)

im still undecided, but considering i want every last drop of bhp you got to spend the money i guess!

thanks for all your advice, think ill give steve a bell tomo ^_^
